Keeping communication clear and accurate as well as delivering with precision is what our team of dedicated interpreters provide in New York City and beyond. With over 200 spoken languages as well as ASL, we will help you convey your message in the legal, medical, corporate, community, or any setting.  Let us help you articulate transparently into your target language.

Source Language

Original language being spoken.

Target Language

Language into which the message is being delivered.

Whether you need an onsite interpreter for a deposition or an independent medical evaluation, or simultaneous interpreters via video remote for your focus groups, we offer interpretation in all languages.

Interpretation Modes

Consecutive

The interpreter retains the information articulated from the source language, delivering it into the target language during the speaker's pauses.  The interpreter and the speakers must take turns talking in order to deliver the message into each language.  This is usually a “two-way mode” frequently used in depositions, legal hearings, or doctor-patient settings.

Simultaneous

The interpreter translates from the source language and articulates it instantly into the target language.  This is usually a “one-way mode” which is most commonly used in conferences, market research (focus groups), or sometimes emergency medical situations because of its speed.

Relay

This particular mode is used when there are no interpreters available in a specific language pair, therefore a team of interpreters is required.

For example; a Quechua-speaking witness needs to answer questions being asked by an English-speaking attorney, but no Quechua <> English interpreter is available. Instead, a team of interpreters can be used to bridge the communication.

A Quechua <> Spanish interpreter works together with a Spanish <> English interpreter, communicating the questions and answers back and forth.

This is also true in conference interpretation, when there is no interpreter available from the source language into the more obscure target language.

Source Language (French) > (English) > (Finnish) Target Language

VRI

Video Remote Interpretation is a better option than (OPI) as it allows the interpreter to see the speaker and utilize their facial expressions and body language.  Body language and facial expressions are key elements of interpretation.

Whispered

This is a form of simultaneous interpretation usually used in smaller or more intimate settings. The interpreter translates from the source language whispering it instantly into the target language.

OPI

Over-the-Phone Interpretation is simply a remote form of interpreting via telephone.
